Customer Service Specialist

MW&CO Wealth Management is currently recruiting for a highly-organized, professional, and friendly Customer Service Specialist in our Woodstock office.

 

The Customer Service Specialist will provide administrative support to the Wealth management team and be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of an exceptional client experience for our Wealth Management clients.


Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Processing and reviewing daily business transactions regarding client accounts
  • Preparing account opening documents and coordinating opening with clients
  • Preparing and maintaining client files, paperwork, and meeting notes
  • Assisting and coordinating our marketing efforts with our Financial Planning, Accounting, and Wealth Management Partners
  • Maintaining appointment schedules and confirming client appointments
  • Maintaining and updating our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail
  • Managing office supply inventory
  • Regulatory and compliance tracking and follow up
  • Other tasks as required

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in business, office administration, accounting, financial planning or equivalent experience
  • Ability to write and format correspondences, including emails and letters
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience with superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Maximizer (CRM)
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Life License Qualification Program (or willingness to learn) is an asset
  • Experience in financial markets and wealth management is an asset

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed accounting technician to join our team. General summary

The candidate who fills this position will be responsible for the provision of general public accounting services to clients of the Firm. This position offers opportunities for challenge and personal growth in a friendly, flexible team atmosphere. 


Principal duties and responsibilities

 

  • Bookkeeping and Year End Engagements
    • Perform bookkeeping required to complete year end engagement files and financial statements
    • Complete required client reporting for monthly, quarterly or annual deadlines
    • Formulate recommendations to clients for consideration by manager or partner
  • Income Tax Compliance
    • Assist with preparation of personal and corporate income tax returns
    • Prepare other returns as required (HST, Employer Remittances, WSIB, T4, T5)
  • Personal Development
    • Maintain technical proficiency through professional development courses and general awareness of current issues
    • Develop and maintain “soft skills” through reading, development courses and on-the-job application
    • Adhere to the ethical standards of Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants and those implicit within MW&CO


Job requirements (qualifications, experience, and preferred attributes):

  • Competent with numbers, analysis and reporting

  • Bookkeeping experience required

  • Experience performing income tax preparation an asset

  • Completion of post-secondary accounting diploma, certificate, or courses an asset

  • Experience with bookkeeping software application(s), such as Sage, Quickbooks, QBO and/or AgExpert preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, strong initiative and attention to detail
